An old heirloom tomato that has been grown for over 100 years in the Province of Lucca in the Tuscany region in Italy. Very nice old-fashioned sweet tomato flavor. The plant produces plenty of large, pear/sack-shaped, red, slightly ribbed on the shoulder's tomatoes. Meaty and firm flesh, small, sometimes empty seed cavities, ideal for drying or stuffing. Ideal for sauces, coulis, and for drying. Rich and bold flavors with good sweetness. Very productive, vigorous, and strong with good disease resistance.
